Terms of Use
Effective date: 23 September 2026
1. Who provides HourMint
HourMint is a trading name of Jake Richards, a sole trader established in England.
Business address: 2 New Buildings Farm, Ashley Drove, Henley, Marlborough, Wiltshire, SN8 3RH, United Kingdom.
Support/legal: support@hourmint.app
Privacy: privacy@hourmint.app
2. Eligibility and acceptance
HourMint V1 is intended for adults aged 18 or over. By downloading or using HourMint you agree to these Terms, together with any mandatory terms imposed by the app store through which you obtained the app.
If mandatory consumer law gives you rights that cannot be excluded by contract, those rights continue to apply.
3. What HourMint is
HourMint is a personal shift, gross-earnings estimate, payday-forecast and working-time tool. It is not an employer payroll system, bank, lender, earned-wage-advance service, financial adviser, tax adviser, employment adviser or legal adviser.
4. Estimates are not guaranteed pay
HourMint calculations depend on the information you enter. Unless a feature expressly states otherwise, HourMint does not calculate or guarantee tax, National Insurance or equivalent deductions, pension deductions, bonuses, tips, commission, overtime premiums, holiday pay, sick pay, expenses, statutory entitlements or employer-specific payroll adjustments.
Check important figures against authoritative employer records, contracts, rotas, timesheets and payslips before relying on them.
5. Your information and local data
You are responsible for checking rates, effective dates, shift times, breaks, payday schedules, future shifts and goal values. Incorrect inputs can produce incorrect estimates.
HourMint V1 is local-first. Core work/pay data is stored on your device by default. Deleting HourMint, clearing application storage, resetting or losing your device can remove local HourMint data. V1 does not promise HourMint-operated cloud backup or cross-device synchronisation.
6. HourMint Pro
HourMint may offer monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions and a lifetime/one-time Pro purchase. The price, currency, billing period and any introductory or promotional offer shown by Apple App Store or Google Play at the point of purchase apply to that transaction.
Apple or Google processes payment. RevenueCat is used to validate purchases and operate HourMint's logical Pro entitlement. HourMint does not directly receive your full payment-card details.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the store account that made the purchase. Cancelling renewal normally leaves Pro active until the end of the paid period unless the store or applicable law provides otherwise.
A lifetime purchase is intended to provide a non-renewing HourMint Pro entitlement while the relevant store transaction remains valid.
7. Free and Pro limits
HourMint may apply creation limits to Free and unlock additional features or items with Pro. If Pro expires, HourMint may prevent creation of additional Pro-gated items, but it should not intentionally delete existing local jobs, goals or shift history merely because a subscription stops renewing.
8. Restore, cancellation and refunds
Where supported, HourMint provides a Restore purchases action. Restore depends on the relevant store account, purchase history and RevenueCat entitlement state. Restoring Pro does not restore local shift/pay history that has been deleted.
Uninstalling HourMint does not necessarily cancel a subscription. Cancellation must be completed through the relevant App Store or Google Play account.
Store billing and refunds are generally handled by Apple or Google. Nothing in these Terms removes statutory cancellation, refund, digital-content or other consumer rights that apply to you.
9. Notifications and sharing
Local reminders depend on device settings and operating-system scheduling and are not guaranteed at an exact time. You choose whether to share generated receipts or working-time cards and which destination receives them.
10. Optional remote features
Optional analytics and creator attribution are not required for core local shift/pay functionality. Their privacy treatment is described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Acceptable use
You must not intentionally interfere with HourMint services, bypass purchase or entitlement controls, use the service for fraud or unlawful activity, or attempt to access another person's data without permission.
This does not restrict lawful security research, interoperability rights or other rights you have under applicable law.
12. Availability and changes
HourMint may update, improve, change, suspend or discontinue features. Remote features can depend on third-party services, app-store systems and network availability. No service can be guaranteed to be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every future device/operating-system version.
13. Intellectual property
HourMint's software, branding, design and original content are owned by or licensed to Jake Richards trading as HourMint, except for third-party components used under their own licences. These Terms do not transfer ownership of those rights to you.
14. Liability and consumer rights
HourMint is a personal planning and information tool, not guaranteed payroll infrastructure.
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information you entered or by treating clearly labelled estimates as authoritative employer/payroll records.
HourMint is intended for personal consumer use. We are not responsible for business losses arising from business or commercial use where the law permits that exclusion.
Nothing excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.
15. Ending use
You may stop using HourMint at any time. Deleting the app may delete local data but does not itself cancel an active store subscription.
HourMint may restrict access to remote services where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or serious misuse, subject to applicable consumer law.
16. Third-party and platform terms
Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat and other third-party services may have their own terms that apply to their services. Mandatory platform terms and consumer law take priority where they cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence or any local court rights that consumer law gives you.
18. Changes to these Terms
The published Terms show their effective date. Where a change is materially important or additional notice is legally required, HourMint will provide appropriate notice before the change takes effect.
